The following industry specialists have accepted the invitation as the member of advisory board of CHTA:







     Monika Nerger  GlobalCIO  Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

     Ms. Monika Nerger joined Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in 2006 as Vice President of Technology, the Americas, and was promoted to global Chief Information Officer in 2011. Prior to Mandarin Oriental, Monika worked internationally with Pan Pacific Hotels, KPMG Consulting, Advanced BusinessLink and Royal Caribbean Cruise lines. As a writer and consultant, she has published several articles on subjects ranging from legacy application modernization, CRM in the gaming industry, to the use of satellite communications onboard cruise ships. She holds a Masters Degree in Business as well as an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. Monika has a keen interest in working with and mentoring the next generation of hospitality technologists. Be prepared to debate whether technology in our industry is evolutionary or revolutionary!


     Hilda Fung  Group Director of IT  Marco Polo Hotels Group
     Ms. Hilda Fung is the Group Director of Information Technology of Marco Polo Hotels, overseeing the IT deployment across the Group. She has been with the group for more than 18 years. Prior to joining Marco Polo Hotels, she worked with several systems vendors in areas of training, systems implementation and support. She holds a BA degree in Business in University of South Australia.






       Michael Delargy  General Manager  Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur

      A native of Ireland, Mr. Michael Delargy worked with Hilton International in IT roles in London and China before joining Starwood in 1998 for the Starwood Africa and Middle East Division, where he headed up Technology Deployment across the division. He later joined the Asia Pacific technology team serving 8 years as VP of IT.  After changing direction to Operations, Michael worked in various hotel roles in Macao and Thailand finishing as the General Manager of Sheraton Pattaya Resort.  Michael currently resides in Nanjing, where he is the General Manager of The Westin.

     Terence Ronson  Managing Director  Pertlink

     Terence Ronson launched his diversified hospitality career as a Chef, from where he held various general management positions with prominent hotels in the UK and Asia. In the mid 80's, he developed his penchant for technology, and in 2000 started Pertlink (Hong Kong), from where he also became the Technology Editor for HOTELS Asia Pacific and authored numerous industry related articles. CNN's eBizasia program featured him in 2001 for his innovative work at Rosedale Hong Kong, and helped Langham Place Hong Kong winning many accolades for its technology deployment. Terence often chairs and speaks at industry events and currently sits on the Advisory Boards for HTNG, HOFEX and HITEC, as well as holding a Visiting Lecturer position at Hong Kong Polytechnic University Terence runs an active Hotel Technology Blog and is also the inventor of iFlyPad (tm). Terence is currently involved in several exciting Asia based projects including South Beach Hotel and Club (Singapore), The Hotel Windsor (Melbourne) and some yet to be named projects in Malaysia and The Philippines.


     Michael Lee  CIO Adjunct  IDC Asia Pacific

     Michael Lee has built a career around utilizing ICT to optimize business operations, having held roles of increasing importance in the industries of Hospitality and Banking. He currently sits as CIO Adjunct for IDC Asia/Pacific, but also served as CIO for the Banyan Tree Group, CEO of Raffles Marina Limited, GVP of Marketing for CDL Hotels International (currently the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels),  Deputy Head of Marketing Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, and was VP for Consumer Banking in United Overseas Bank.

He is an advocate of the transformative impact of ICT on businesses, and has managed several facets of ICT integration including central property management, business intelligence & analytics, HR & talent management, procurement, and revenue management. His current role with IDC puts him in charge of advisory and strategic counsel for fellow C-level executives looking to lead their respective organizations toward 3rd Platform transformation.

Michael is a Chartered Marketer, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (USA and Singapore). He holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified Enterprise Systems Architecture and TOGAF Practitioner.







     Joseph Wong  VPof IT,Great China  

     InterContinental Hotels Group 

     Mr. Joseph Wong Joseph joined IHG in April 2012 as Vice President, Technology Operations for Greater China, after spending close to 12 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific. In his current position, Joseph is leading the overall strategic transformation of Technology Operations in Greater China.  Other scope of responsibilities include hotel technology, IT Security and Compliance, application enhancement and support, infrastructure engineering and operations, enterprise voice and data networks, strategic data centers and various enterprise systems such as Business Analytics, Sales and CRM systems. In his previous role with Starwood, Joseph was the Managing Director, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asian Pacific. During Joseph's time with Starwood, the Asia Pacific Division has grown from 70 to more than 210 Starwood hotels, resorts and offices across 20 countries introducing new Hotel brands such as W, St Regis and Aloft into new markets. Joseph earned his Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He completed the Advanced Management Program from National University of Singapore in 2011, and is currently serving on the Board of Advisors for Singapore Management University School of Information Systems.





       Douglas Rice  

       Managing Director   Hospitality Technology Strategic Advisors     


Douglas Rice is an industry leader in the global hospitality technology industry, and now advises hotels, technology providers, and 

investors on strategic technology planning, market development, funding, and mergers and acquisitions.  Best known for his role as 

founder of the global nonprofit industry association Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), Douglas served as its first chief 

executive, growing HTNG over his 11-year tenure from a startup all-volunteer effort to a global industry association with thousands of 

members, a multimillion dollar annual budget, and nearly a dozen full-time staff. Douglas was the 2012 inductee into the Hospitality 

Technology & FInancial Professionals (HFTP) Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame; has been a frequent speaker at industry 

conferences around the world; and has authored dozens of published articles.  Douglas’s prior experience includes 10 years as 

President of Stratus Management Group, Inc., a leading consulting firm focusing on hotel technology, marketing and operational 

issues; eight years as managing consultant and Vice President at The Graycon Group, Inc. (predecessor company to TravelCLICK); 

four years in various market management positions at United Airlines; and six years as senior economist and consultant at Data 

Resources, Inc. and Wharton Econometrics (both now part of GlobalInsight). Douglas earned his Bachelor’s degree with highest 

distinction in Economics and distinction in Mathematics at Dartmouth College. He earned a Master of Business Administration 

degree with highest distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was named a George F. Baker Scholar.






    Michael Zhu  SVP

     China Lodging Group, Limited

     Mr. Michael Zhu is the VP of IT at Interstate China Hotels and Resorts. He used to be the

     General Manager of IT at Wanda Hotels and Resorts, as well as CIO at Jinling Hotels & Resorts.

He had also been responsible for IT and 6 sigma management at Starwood for several years. He has remarkable international insights with good understanding of Chinese local market requirements.

       A senior expert of IT, e-commerce & knowledge management in hospitality industry, columnist of TravelDaily, visiting scholar of Purdue University at USA, MBA of Nanjing University,  one of the key authors of the book Reevaluating IT.

     Mr. Zhu has more than 20 years’ IT management experiences, and has made outstanding achievements in IT-based sales & marketing innovation, management model improvement, etc.. He has successfully led the development and implementation of the first domestic CRS/CRM system in 2004, as well as the first Domestic Central Procurement System in 2006. Those achievements have been reported widely by famous domestic media. As a result, he was awarded Top 50 CIO in China by IDC & CEOCIO magazine in 2007.







       Xinxin Liu  CIO/ EVP

Ms Liu Xinxin has served as Chief Information Officer of the HUAZHU HOTELS GROUP LTD. Since Sep. 2012.She has more than 

16 years of working experiences in the IT/Telecom industry and has strong IT&IS strategic management ability, Business Process 

Transformation and efficient execution. Prior to joining HuaZhu Hotels Goup Ltd., Ms Liu had served as IT general manager, IT 

director, Application director in Alcatel-Lucent China, one of Top 500 International company. Under her leadership, HuaZhu 

group launched the IT journey of inhouse development preferred with online genes.  The cloud business applications delegated 

for hotel operation was delivered successfully and highly recognized as one of core competencies for HuaZhu’s fast growth.

technology platform. Vingo Fu ever worked in IT, operations, marketing departments, has extensive experience in hotel 

industry. Vingo Fu currently serves as CIO of New Century Hotels & Resorts.

       Edward Malinowski  CIO  Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts

    A true technologist, Edward Malinowski is Chief Information Officer of Shangri-La International 

Hotel Management Ltd. Prior to joining Shangri-La, his previous work experience encompassed enterprise IT roles 

within IBM and Hyatt Hotels, and Information Security positions including the National Security Manager of Network 

Associates and Chief Security Officer for the American Bar Association. As comfortable discussing infrastructure and 

development methodologies as he is seeking operational efficiencies and setting strategic direction, Edward's 

hands-on style is as unconventional as his background. He holds a degree in chemistry from Bradley University 

and started his occupational life in a laboratory rather than in a server room or behind a hotel front desk. This 

uncommon source serves as the fount for his passion – he views technology as the great equalizer, a field where 

anyone armed with determination and a good idea can change the world, and believes that the most successful 

organizations in the coming decades will be the ones that realize technology no longer merely enables their 

business, it actively drives it.







     Rajagopal Gampa       Senior Corporate Director of Information Technology    

                                          Rosewood Hotel Group

     Mr. Rajagopal Gampa is the Corporate Director of Information Technology at Rosewood Hotel Group, the Hong Kong-based hotel management company for the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, New World Hotels and pentahotels brands. He is responsible for heading and developing the group’s technology initiative and strategies within the fields of distribution, finance and infrastructure. Mr. Gampa has more than a decade of experience managing hospitality technology operations across Asia. He holds an undergraduate degree in engineering and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong.








                   Frank Wolfe   CEO   HFTP,HITEC


                     Frank Wolfe, CAE joined the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) in March 1991 as the association’s director of education. He became executive vice president/CEO of HFTP in 1994 and at that time was one of the youngest association CEOs in North America. As HFTP’s CEO, Wolfe oversees the association’s operations, as well as represents the association worldwide at industry events, on industry boards and committees and via the news media. His diligent leadership contributed to the expansion of the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), the development of the Global Hospitality Accounting Common Practices (GHACP), and the opening of the HFTP Asia Research Center at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. As the spokesperson for HFTP, Wolfe frequently speaks on hospitality finance, technology, social media and travel issues to varied audiences and has presented in more than 20 countries.



     Michael Levie       Founder and COO        citizenM Hotel

     Michael Levie; upon graduating from Essec Mba in hospitality management (IMHI Cornell/Essec), worked for various international hotel chains including Sonesta International Hotels Corporation and NH Hoteles all over the world. As Vice-President of Operations he managed large hotel portfolios. Michael also worked for SynXis, where he started and headed up the European office. Michael Levie is currently a founding partner and in charge of operations at citizenM hotels.



     Jingbang Zhang        Managing Director        Prima Investment Group
Mr. Zhang is currently the Managing Director of Prima Investment Group, prior to joining Prima Investment, Mr. Zhang served with Narada 
Hotels Group as Executive Vice President and he has also held several key property and corporate positions in many real estate companies 
and Hotel management companies as well, including Deputy General Manager of Crowne Plaza Beijing, Group Director of Operations Jasper 
Hotels Group;General Manager China Resources Club Management Co., Ltd; Director of Marketing Best Western International Greater China
Region; General Manager of Yinzuo Hotels Group; Deputy General Manager of Greenland International Hotels Group and several General 
Manager posts started with IHG since 1999.

Mr. Zhang hold M. Ec and B.A. from Chinese Renmin University since 1983.

 Huanyan Zhao       Chief Knowledge Officer and Senior Economist        Huamei Consulting Group

Mr. Huanyan Zhao is Chief Knowledge Officer and Senior Economist of Huamei Consulting Group, Chief Data Scientist of China Hospitality Technology Alliance (CHTA).  He has over 17 years research experience in large hotel groups, over 8 years research experience in hotel consulting enterprise. And he has been chosen as one of Top 100 with Influence on "Reform and opening up, 30 years of China's Hotel Industry ", and won the first "China Value" top 100 most influential experts.
